It is with great excitement that the University of North Carolina at Greensboro School of Education announces the “return” of the Teaching Fellows program to our campus with the newly created UNCG Teacher Education Fellows Scholarship Program to begin in Fall 2015. We are now accepting applications for our first class of Teacher Education Fellows and hope that you will share the attached flyer with any of your seniors interested in careers in teaching.
This program awards a $20,000.00 scholarship distributed incrementally over four years of study at UNCG. In addition to scholarships, the UNCG Teacher Education Fellows Program includes a variety of other benefits, including integrated seminars, networking events, community engagement opportunities, and leadership development. Fellows also live in relative proximity to one another as part of the Residential Colleges or Lloyd International Honors College. Additionally, Fellows study abroad during their sophomore year as part of the global focus of the program.
To be eligible for participation in the UNCG Teacher Education Fellows Program, a student must be a North Carolina resident, have at least a 3.80 cumulative high school GPA(weighted), and have a minimum SAT score of 1100 (verbal and math) or ACT composite score of 24. Students must also select one of the following UNCG majors that lead to N.C. teaching licensure:
• Elementary Education
• Middle Grades Education
• Special Education
• Dual (Elementary and Special) Education
• One of the following majors in the College of Arts and Sciences with Secondary Education concentrations:
o Integrated Science
