Faculty & Family Proud of Northside Accomplishments
From Jacksonville Daily News
Principal Maria Johnson said that she could not be prouder as the 185 graduates of Northside’s High School’s class of 2012 walked the stage to receive their diplomas Saturday night.
“I could go on and on about how proud I am of this group of students,” Johnson said to the graduating class that earned a total of $1,436,000 in scholarships. “I have faith in everything you do.”
After Johnson’s words, the Northside choir performed, “You Raise Me Up.”
Valedictorian Chi Fung Lo and salutatorian Michael Morrison II gave the commencement addresses to their graduating class.
The senior selection of “Today My Life Begins,” was performed by Kimberley Clark, Mallory Gneiting, and Sarah Hardin, with guitar accompaniment by David Clark Jr. and later The Northside Singers gave a performance of The Northside High School Alma Mater.
As the graduating class ended their final night together again, Johnson told them to stay proud of their high school roots, “Once a Monarch, always royalty.”
