 "SPIRIT WEEK 2011"....Organized by NHS Student Council

The following is a timeline of the events for this year's Homecoming. The Homecoming theme is "Demolish de Devils" and the Homecoming dance theme is "Dancing on dem Devils"

The following is a list of the events happening in chronological order:

Sept 29^th          Vote for Homecoming candidate in homeroom

Oct 3^rd              Seniors: Togas Day, Underclassmen: Pajama Day...Class lunch competition: Spaghetti eating contest

Oct 4^th              Tacky Twin Tuesday...Class Lunch competition: Hot pepper eating contest

Oct 5^th              Fake an Injury Day...Class Lunch Competition: Dunking Booth (need some teacher volunteers)

                        Powder Puff Football Game...7pm Monarch Stadium...Adm: $2

Oct 6^th               Character Day (dress like you favorite teacher, celebrity or super hero)...Class Lunch Competition: Treasure in the bucket, (this one in going to be gross)

                         Vote for Homecoming Queen, King and Mr. and Miss Spirit

Oct 7^th               Monarch Maniac Day (Spirit Day) Dress in the school colors, show that Monarch Spirit

                         Band and Cheerleaders perform during lunch

                         Pep Rally...1-2pm

                         Homecoming Parade...4pm

                         Homecoming Game...7:30pm vs South Lenoir "Blue Devils" 

                         Homecoming Queen and King announced at half time

Oct 8^th                Homecoming Dance...7:30-11:00pm...Tickets on sale at lunch=$10/person-$18/couple-Free Refreshments-Dance Contest

Competitions:

Best Float for the Homecoming Parade. The club or organization that creates the float that best portrays the Homecoming theme

Banner Competition- Contest between the Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores and Freshmen. Who creates the best banner, the winner's banner will be the one the football team runs through on game night

Spirit Link Competition- Spirit rings will be sold throughout the week and they will be put together to form a chain. The class that has the longest spirit chain wins. (presented at the pep rally) Money from this competition is split between student council and the United Way

Club/Class Banner competition- Clubs or classrooms make spirit banners, the best one depicting the theme wins a pizza party. All banners will be hung on the fence at the football game
